Canada last hosted the regional qualifying six years ago. On that occasion, Marina Stakusic, Victoria Mboko, and Kayla Cross formed the Canadian Billie Jean King Cup Juniors team, captained by Heidi El Tabakh. All four were a part of Team Canada last week at the pro Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers in Tokyo, Japan.
