Just in case you missed it… the Toronto Raptors won the NBA championship on Thursday night! Something that didn’t go unnoticed by our Canadian tennis players on social media.
Genie Bouchard was at Game 5 in Toronto and decided to make the trip to Oakland for Game 6. A great decision on her part, since she got to witness “history in Canada baby!”
HISTORY IN CANADA BABY!!! Honoured to have witnessed this live!!! @Raptors pic.twitter.com/gPDWv00nOr

Milos Raonic gave a shout out to his fellow New Balance ambassador and NBA Finals MVP, Kawhi Leonard! No need to use words, emojis are way better.

This team brought a country together. Vasek Pospisil, like everyone else, really wants Kawhi Leonard to stay with the Raps to go after another title.
RAPTORS!! Absolutely love this team and @kawhileonard. Wow!!! #StayInTO

Bianca kept it short and sweet (and loud)!

Kawhi Leonard ended the Raptors’ 24-year title drought and because of that, Sharon Fichman thinks there’ll be many more Kawhis running around very soon .

Denis Shapovalov posted on his Instagram Story about the landmark victory, and also retweeted this from the Davis Cup account. This is a feeling I think every Canadian felt on Friday morning.

Doubles’ specialist Gabriela Dabrowski couldn’t believe what happened on Thursday night. Tweeting the same message on two different occasions. We all feel the same way, Gaby….. mind blown .

Kyle Lowry has been with the Raptors for seven years and of course, he went through his fair share of ups and downs. All the work paid off though and his interview afterwards really hit home with Nicaise Muamba.

The Raptors received support from Canadians globally. Just ask Filip Peliwo, who made sure to catch Game 6 in Italy. Now that’s commitment.

It was a long time coming for the Raptors and the country of Canada, 24-years to be exact. Similar to majority of fans, Carol Zhao was overwhelmed with emotions.
