Safe Sport Code of Conduct

This Code establishes the standards of behavior expected from all participants within Tennis Canada to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment, free from misconduct and maltreatment.

Summary

Purpose: Promote ethical conduct and integrity among all organizational participants.
Ensure compliance with the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS).

Scope: Applies to all individuals involved with Tennis Canada, including athletes, coaches, officials, employees, volunteers, and board members.
Incorporates the UCCMS by reference, with immediate effect upon any amendments.

Key Principles:

  • Integrity: Acting in an open, ethical, and fair manner.
  • Respect: Treating everyone equally, regardless of personal characteristics.
  • Safety: Providing a safe environment, free from abuse, harassment, and discrimination.

Reporting and Compliance: 

  • Encourages reporting of all violations, especially prohibited behaviour and maltreatment. 
  • Designates an Independent Third Party (ITP) to receive and investigate complaints. 
  • Outlines consequences for non-compliance, including potential disciplinary actions.
