TENNIS CANADA TAKES THE VR PLUNGE
Tennis Canada is diving into a whole new realm, that of virtual reality. In an effort to make tennis accessible to an even greater audience, we are joining the rapidly growing world of Esports with the inaugural Tennis Canada VR Tournament presented by the motorola razr.
This is your chance to participate in a world class tournament directly from the comfort of your own home. So, whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a newbie eager to make your mark, this tournament is designed to challenge and excite players of all levels.
What is VR
Virtual Reality (VR) is an emergent immersive technology which allows users to experience a virtual environment through a headset placed over their eyes. It is a new medium for gaming, consuming content and other multi-sensory experiences – and in our case, a new tool to bring tennis to the world!
The tournament will take place on Tennis Esports, which launched this June. Tennis Canada specifically selected this game to host the tournament because it has the best virtual gameplay available in VR today and provides the most realistic experience that compares to playing actual tennis.
